Our dealership is located in Alaska. We are looking for a very detailed, organized and driven Service Writer / Advisor for our growing dealership. We sell the Honda, Polaris, CanAm, Ski-Doo and Stihl brands of products.
This position consists of several different duties with the main one being taking in service work from customers and writing up the work details for the technicians. Must be able to perform a walk around with the customer and upsell service work on the spot. Then this work will be assigned to one of our 3 technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Maintains accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department’s operation within the dealership.
*Assure that all charges related to work orders are posted properly.
*Assure all work orders are closed and work is picked up on a timely basis.
*Process warranty and Product Improvement Claims.
*Open work orders and maintain control until closed and invoiced.
*Handles Repair Order charges, warranty validation & claims coverage’s including computation of charges, submission and follow-up.
*Maintains the service library with information that is current.
*Able to communicate clearly to the assigned technician the work that needs to be performed and the amount of time that it should take based on flat rate.
*Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area
*Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties
*Ability to safely operate all equipment sold by the dealership
*Handles service department filing and records.
*Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours or other information from the customer work orders.
*Assist in handling service customer complaints and concerns
*Must be proficient in helping customers on the phone with basic service operations
*Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to efficiently handle multiple jobs at the same time without forgetting anyone.
*Be aware of and track “comebacks” and make sure the problem is corrected to the customer and dealership’s satisfaction
*Greet customers immediately in a courteous manner
*Treat customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practices
*Be able to settle angry customers in a calming way
*Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously and with dignity
*Maintain positive relationships with customers, other employees and owners
*Be early, flexible and available for scheduling
*Keep up to date with technical training as it is released
*Focus on Quality & Service

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
*Must be very familiar with Lightspeed NXT or Lightspeed EVO -
Minimum of 2yrs experience with this POS system
*Must have a Minimum or 3yrs experience working in a Powersports dealership
perferably one that carried the products that we sell ie Polaris, Honda, Ski-Doo, CanAM and/or Stihl
*Must have outgoing, friendly personality and superior communication & customer service skills
*Ability to negotiate customer complaints to a satisfactory resolution
*Good computer skills
*General understanding of mechanical/technical terms.
